A very low table is displayed in the room. The title is not just a title but serves more as an invitation. People help themselves by drinking the milk they find in the glasses. The choice of what to do after is up to them. Put the empty glass back? Put it on the table? Bring them back from the fridge and ask for a refill? Everythink is allowed and everythink has an impact on the work and its configuration for the future hosts. The structure of the table is holding nothing but is rather held by what we are normally used to see on it. The content is serving the structure, not the opposite. A circle of feeding is both present in the shape of the table and in it’s own essence of bringing people together, sharing, and tasting new things. A new iconography of virgo lactans is proposed. Not a mother and a child anymore but rather an interspecies relationship revolving around the act of feeding.

Un tavolo inusuale, di certo basso è installato in una delle stanze riservate alla servitù nella tenuta di caccia di Re Carlo a Karlsruhe. Il titolo non è solo un titolo, ma si presenta piuttosto come un invito. Le persone si servono da sole bevendo il latte che trovano nei bicchieri. La scelta di cosa fare dopo spetta a loro. Rimettere a posto il bicchiere vuoto? Metterlo sul tavolo? Riportarlo dal frigorifero e chiedere di riempirlo di nuovo? Tutto è consentito e tutto ha un impatto sul lavoro, determinandone la configurazione per gli ospiti futuri. La struttura del tavolo non sostiene nulla, ma è piuttosto sostenuta da ciò che siamo abituati a vedere sopra: il contenuto è al servizio della struttura, non il contrario. Un cerchio di alimentazione reciproca è presente sia nella forma del tavolo sia nella sua stessa essenza di riunire le persone, condividere e assaggiare cose nuove. L’auspicio è un rinnovamento dell’ iconografia della virgo lactans, non più una madre e un bambino, ma piuttosto una relazione interspecie che ruota attorno all’atto di nutrirsi.
