Let’s follow the path of some flying species, some being tat does not touch the ground and is not attached to it… Let’s be guided, for once, by something small, close, and extremely vulnerable. The work speaks about adaphtation to the environment, taking as an example the little story of some groups of sparrows that literally changed their DNA to survive lead contamination in areas where humans still have serious problems dealing with this toxic material they brought themselves on the surface. The metal frame makes the images of the birds almost sacral, and slowly turning in the room reveals the shapes when the light passes through the paper. Four flying sparrows are adorned or maybe deformed with some round shapes that could remember hunting bullets, which represent the biggest lead presence in European areas. But they could also be jewels and pearls.

Lasciamoci guidare da qualche specie volante, da esseri che non toccano il suolo e non sono attaccati ad esso… Lasciamoci guidare, per una volta, da qualcosa di piccolo, vicino ed estremamente vulnerabile. LEADing us parla di adattamento all’ambiente in cui viviamo, partendo dalla piccola storia di alcuni gruppi di passeri che hanno letteralmente cambiato il loro DNA per sopravvivere alla contaminazione da piombo in zone in cui l’uomo ha ancora seri problemi di salute dovuti a questo materiale tossico che lui stesso ha portato in superficie. La cornice metallica rende le immagini degli uccelli quasi sacrali, e, ruotando lentamente nella stanza rivela le silhouette quando la luce attraversa la carta. Quattro passeri volanti sono ornati o forse deformati da alcune piccole sfere che potrebbero ricordare proiettili da caccia, i quali rappresentano la maggiore presenza di piombo nelle aree verdi europee. Ma potrebbero anche essere perle, ornamenti rubati o misteriosi gioielli.
